Automation Control 2.05

Managing Shortcuts automations can be a challenging task for users familiar with the Shortcuts app. The Automation Control app aims to enhance the management experience by acting as an advanced conditional statement, determining when automations should activate or remain idle. By incorporating Automation Control's 'Get Status of Item' action into your automations, or utilizing the Automation Control Template shortcut, users can achieve unprecedented control over their automations, whether enabling, disabling, pausing, or setting specific conditions.

It is important to note that Automation Control does not replace the Shortcuts automations tab; some initial setup within the Shortcuts app is still necessary for effective management. Originally conceived as a shortcut and now developed into a full-fledged app, Automation Control offers various features:

• Name your automations and add an icon and description for easy identification.
• Sort automations alphabetically, by status, or manually for better organization.
• Quickly toggle items on or off with a double tap, displaying their status directly on the item row.
• Select from multiple indicator views to customize how you monitor the status of your items.
• Support for both 12-hour and 24-hour timing formats.
• Backup and restore functionalities to secure your settings.
• A log view to track the successful completion of your automations.
• Ability to send or receive text variables between Shortcuts and Automation Control.
• Filter and group automations based on their current status.
• A search bar for efficient navigation through specific automations.
• The option to pin frequently used automations for immediate access.
• Set timers on your automations for scheduled actions.
• Choose from various layout options to suit your preferences.
• Establish conditions including Date & Time, Location, Focus Modes, Weather, among others.
• Many more features are anticipated in future updates.

Usage instructions:

1. Create an Automation Control item by tapping the '+' button in the top right corner.
2. Name your item, provide a description, select an icon, and enable it.
3. Save it as a Controller item or tap the controls button to establish various conditions.
4. Download the Automation Control Template shortcut, rename it to match your newly created control item, and set up your actions.
5. Configure your automation within the Shortcuts app by adding a 'Run Shortcut' action and selecting your modified shortcut.
